In elementary school having an August birthday was always difficult. while all the other kids with non-summer birthdays had their names announced over the intercom and enjoyed delicious in-class cupcake feasts, the rest of us June - August folk had to suffer in silence. never fully getting the recognition we deserved. and while I have taken up numerous posts this month celebrating a few of my fellow summer comrades (Shane, Wren, Ben, Mike, Me), due to my failing memory I have neglected to recognize many more who also are members of the elite, yet often-overlooked, club known as the: Let me now take a moment to apologize and send love to each one of you. while our ages and locations may vary, our eighth-month connection ties us all together. …and to those of you whom I may have still forgotten, sorry. you’ll just have to send angy comments like Ella. In the continuing saga of things going wrong with our pets, Griffin tore up his toenail the other day. We’re not exactly sure how it happened, but likely it was out hiking on the trails with his buddy Lad. After a trip to the vet to remove the nail, he limped around quite gingerly for a few days. But it turned out to look a lot worse then it really was. And now he’s back up running all over like normal. Filed under: Animals Comments: 3 Comments |

But I have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep. -Robert Frost Have you ever driven an old car too fast down a bad dirt road? At some point you say to yourself, “this thing may just fly apart and take me with it”. That’s how I feel. I could, quite conservatively be called “a mess” today. 4 hours into a 14 hour work day. My hands are shaking, I have delightful bouts of nausea every 10 minutes, I can’t eat anything, I can’t calm down because there is no time to stop moving, and I leave in 5 minutes for the first part of a wedding. After which I will come back to work for another couple hours, then go back to the second part of the wedding. I might just fly apart. And miles to go before I sleep. Stacey’s worm bin is now one year old! I have to admit, after having been around WAY too many badly build compost piles, I was very suspicious of having such a thing in the house. But it has been really cool. The worms eat a bunch of scraps every day and churn out dark rich compost that stacey has put into her garden. And no smell at all. In fact, in terms of smell, the worm bin is WELL behind: the dog, the cats, the cat box, me, my shoe pile, stacey and the fridge. So it’s doing pretty well. Filed under: Stacey Comments: 5 Comments |

if there has been one negative to my move to Boston, it has definately been the serious lack of bowling going on. can you believe that i am the ONLY one in our house that has his own shoes and ball? …pretty sad. ALSO: Filed under: Bowling Comments: 6 Comments |
