Here’s something I forgot to post from our trip to Oregon. After eating at Stacey’s favorite pizza resturant, I was still pretty hungry. No wonder, since I can’t really have resturant pizza. And the salad I did have was less than hearty. So I decided that I needed to enjoy the waning days of summer with an ice cream cone. But then, of course, we couldn’t stop ourselves from instantly ordering the “doggie dish special” from the ice cream parlor’s menu. We had no idea what it was, but we were sure that Griffen would love it. And love it he did. Filed under: Animals and Travels Comments: 4 Comments |

so we have long since left the land of fast internet and easy picture transfering. 1’s and 0’s are now delivered to the BrothersRoot server via a carrier pigeon that only has one arm. unfortunately this means that blog posts are becoming increasingly difficult and notably more scarce. …however, i was able to steal one pic from Per’s Flickr Site as a reminder that some pics are slowly making their way up on his site. so don’t forget to check that out. ANNNNND let’s not forget the Blog Du Wren. home of much more regular updates (but slightly less awesome content. ha! just kidding wren! woot!) . Filed under: Travels Comments: 3 Comments |

Andrew keeps telling us that he was nowhere near the recent coup activities in Thailand. But then I find this AP photo on msnbc.com. And what exactly has he done with Per, Myke, and Wrenners? I think we should all be very concerned. Filed under: Andrew's World of Wonder and Travels Comments: 10 Comments |

coup or not, the travels continue. Chiang Mai is a wonderful city full of temples, delicious food, monks, trivia, massages, military, and ex-pats. what more could a young boy ask for? Filed under: Travels Comments: 6 Comments |

After many fits and starts, we finally got out of town last Wednesday. Then stupidly took the long-ass way to the Oregon coast (going through Portland), since neither of us had been out there for a few years. It was pretty late by the time we hooked up with Sam and Tony at Oswald West State park (otherwise known as Short Sand Beach) just below Cannon Beach. We hung out by the campfire and then hiked back out to the parking lot and slept in the van, not having realized that Oswald West was a hike in camp, though only 1/3 of a mile.

it truly is a turbulent world that we live in folks. but rest assured, your favorite quad of travelers is safe and sound in the lands of Thai. truth be told, we have been on a trek in the North for the last couple days and were competely unaware of what is going on down South. hard to pay attention to politics when you are living in the mountains bringing extreme Jenga to the masses. so we have arrived in Thailand and have met with Mr. Schultz. …and while we don’t have any pictures to share at this time, i do have a link to Mr. Garrett Miller’s brand new eco-friendly office supply website: isn’t it about time you got off your butts and used recycled paper? Myke stole King Midas’ treasure so we had to run from a small army of Taiwanese waves. luckily we all survived with only a bit of delightful sunburn as punishment. for more up-to-date & fun-fun photos you can visit Per’s Flickr Photostream. god bless the internet.
