Bamboo is cool because it grows fast. Unless it is growing fast on my property, in which case bamboo is annoying and smells like cat pee. But since it is pushing over the fence, welcome to the jungle. I’ve got to cut a bunch of it back. Filed under: Josh's random life Comments: 6 Comments |

92% of you didn’t care when I posted about this the first time, so I am guessing 98% of you won’t care when I post about it the second time. Filed under: Snow/Skate/Climb/Bike/Etc Comments: 4 Comments |

A bizarre story comes out of the New England area. The photo above links to a Boston Globe article about Oscar the cat. Oscar lives at the Steere House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and apparently can predict death. If he shows up in your room, you had better call your priest and lawyer because you just have a few hours left. Information about Oscar was originally published in the New England Journal of Medicine. But like all stories of this kind, other news outlets have picked up on the mortality sniffing feline. Even Wired has published a rebuttal of sorts on one of it’s online blogs. At least that cat has a useful talent. I would say that Tuba’s “talent” is losing at fights with other cats. I don’t know, maybe he likes having Stacey clean out his smelly gross wounds. Filed under: Animals Comments: 3 Comments |

Wow. Wikipedia has made them famous:
“Supported by the presence of a large university age population, Bellingham has been home to a number of regionally and nationally noted musical groups such as: The Posies, Idiot Pilot, Death Cab for Cutie, Crossfox, The Contra, Mono Men, Sharpie, No-Fi Soul Rebellion, Federation X, The Trucks, Shook Ones, Megatron, Yogoman Burning Band, Black Eyes and Neckties, Dandelion Junk Queens, Black Breath, The Pale Pacific, Ladies of The Night, Clambake, and the recently disbanded USS Horsewhip all originate from the area.” Filed under: Cool Kid Music and Friends Comments: 5 Comments |

You know what sucks? Computer crashes. Please everyone, back-up your files. For the love of doG, back-up your files! UPDATE: It appears that the problem may have been caused by a ram failure. Removed bad ram, put in new ram (that happened to arrive yesterday) and things seem to be working again. In any case, all data is still there. So at the very least, my photos of Andrew are safe. Our neighbor’s dogs have been coming over to hang out with Griffen during the day. They are a couple of small black pugs. So we’ve got a bizarre doggy gang at our house, a big goofy doofus and two little squirts with respiratory problems. They run all over the house and play tug-a-war with Griffen’s toys. I’m sure that all of the other dogs in the neighborhood are terribly scared. Oh well, at least it curbs Stacey’s need for a new dog. That’s the last thing I need in this tiny house. Well, the last thing I need is probably a uni-clam infestation. But you get the point. Filed under: Animals Comments: 5 Comments |

It was a bit overshadowed by the birth of Clarity’s baby, but today is Stacey’s 29th birthday. Happy birthday to my beautiful wife! Filed under: Stacey Comments: 6 Comments |
