Roll Them Dice!
Posted on 04.26.09 by Andrew @ 10:18 pm

Here is the latest update for Baby Gamble 2009! Pay your money and take your chances! I have decided to extend the deadline until 12:01am on 5/1/09. So send an email/comment/carrier pigeon and get that final guess in. $1.00 a guess, with a 2 guess limit.

Oh, and for those of you highlighted in RED on the calendar, y’all haven’t paid up. So either give me a dollar, or else risk the sting of disqualification (or at least the risk of me taking a $$$ from your wallet next time I see you).

Well at least it wasn’t a shutout
Posted on 04.23.09 by Josh Root @ 9:18 am

we've in a cave, wow.

This is a parking lot I'm angry about the parking lot
Dig slave, or it's back to the parking lot These are my red parking lot walking shoes, WORD!

As predicted back in December, I didn’t get to snowboard this year. Which, to be honest, kind of sucked. When you’ve been doing a hobby for 15+ years, it’s probably something that you enjoy. And when you’ve been doing it all that time with friends you love, chances are good that you miss it even more if you stop. But life rolls on and my life isn’t at a point where I can go ride much any more.

But at least I can say I got up there once this year. It isn’t much, I know, but it’s something. And it was a really fun spring day last weekend with Davidson, Kev and Smooth. We messed around the hill like idiots, played with the slow motion video camera I brought, checked out ‘the boat’ snow cave, and generally had a grand old time. It was pretty much just like every spring day I’ve gotten to enjoy in the past. And it’s really nice to have something in your life where, even after not doing it for a while, you can step back in, knock the rust off, and still feel like your body remembers what it’s supposed to be doing. I guess photography and snowboarding are the only things in my life that I’ve got that give me that feeling. Though I can’t say I’ve ever really taken a break from photography. Still, you get the point. Anyway, it was nice to get back on the hill. Even if just for a day.

Speaking of photography, I call this photo “King of the Boat” I think you will all agree that it’s pretty awesome.

All will bow before the boat!

Ajijic 2009
Posted on 04.19.09 by Andrew @ 10:55 pm

See?
I told you that I was in Mexico! And you all thought that I spend 5 days in the library. Pfft. Enjoy a slideshow of Ajijic’s finest. Thanks to Tony and Conrad for some stolen pictures. No thanks to Per and Alix for their fancy unstealable online photo-albums. Regardless, the trip was amazing. Love to all for the good good times.

PS. This slideshow is rated PG due to a topless Blake, bottomless Per, and Johnny Cash Alix.

Stacey’s secret ingredient
Posted on 04.17.09 by Josh Root @ 9:08 am

Hmmmmm....sour cream. You are a dairy goddess!

One of the wonderful things about Stacey (and there are many), is that she really loves cooking and seems to enjoy the challenge of coming up with salt free versions of interesting dishes. Not only that, but her success rate is way WAY high. The meals she cooks are really very tasty.

However, I think I have finally figured out what her secret ingredient is. There is a lot of it in the photo above, can you sleuth out the secret?

Here are three things that I love…
Posted on 04.14.09 by Josh Root @ 8:37 pm

I love these things.

Can you guess what the three things are? Wrong. You should have said: pulling weeds, a stick and looking the other way.

Baby’s First Gamble
Posted on 04.13.09 by Andrew @ 9:51 pm

Some may say that the best thing about having a baby is the joy of creating life. Others may say that it is the opportunity to gamble on the date of birth. Who am I to argue with either?

Bottom line: Gretchen has a baby-birth-pool and it is getting pretty intense. $1.00 to enter. Email/call/leave a comment with your pick and we’ll send you an address to mail the cash to. Winner takes all. In the event of a tie, the cash is split. Closest without going over wins (Price Is Right style). Keep in mind that the due date is May 15th, so your deadline for entries is April 27th (postmarked). Check the current standings below.

Party over here!
Posted on 04.07.09 by Josh Root @ 9:43 am

Patio Party Premiers in Pellingham

Gwen isn't so sure she wants to be a cowgirl Two hands in the snack bowl, one foot on the gas pedal.

Speaking of birthdays, we took advantage of the nice weather and had a BBQ party the other evening for our friend Mandy’s birthday. 15 people in our little house! It actually went really well because we all hung out on the patio and everyone helped with bringing food and cooking/cleaning. The sun was nice, but you can tell it’s still early spring around here because we had the patio heater going to take off the chill as the sun started getting lower.

As for the babies, Gwen thought about rustling some cattle and Jack just stuffed his face.
